Trailer Pools
Reveille has extra trailers that we can drop at your shipping location to help facilitate loading and unloading. Our drivers will drop the trailer with your load at the receiving dock and hook up another, full trailer for the backhaul. This increases efficiency and lowers cost as the driver does not have to wait for the trailer to be unloaded, allowing them to make more runs.
Advantages of trailer pools and drop and hook trucking extend to the shipper as well.
- Loose items can take longer to load and unload. With drop and hook trailer pools, freight can be pre-loaded as it is ready to go rather than waiting for the truck to live load.
- During busy times, live loading can cause a warehouse to get backed up, or to take longer to get to the truck. This causes down time and therefore costs more.
- Scheduling is easier because the window of delivery does not need to match warehouse schedule of unloading and loading the truck. The driver can utilize a larger window to drop off the trailer for the warehouse staff to unload later and pick up a trailer they have already loaded.
